Pitaya the Xolo | Day of the Dead Edition

Handmade Xoloitzcuintle, Día de Muertos Inspired

A$64.99

Bold, bright and full of personality, just like the fruit she’s named after. Pitaya has a pink eye ringed in orange and deep purple, and a red flower above it. Her face is covered in orange swirls, pink and purple flowers and little green curls. Both upright ears carry a deep purple bloom framed in teal with golden leaves. A cream flower sits on her neck, and pink, magenta and green stitches run along her back between hand-stitched white bones.

The Legend of the Xolo
In Mexica tradition, the Xoloitzcuintle guided souls through Mictlán, the underworld, carrying them across its great river to their final rest. Today it remains a symbol of loyalty and protection, and a beloved part of Día de Muertos.
